Pelvic Therapy Practitioner Certification (PTPC)

The Institute is currently developing a certification for Pelvic Therapy Practitioners. Currently, no certification exists to recognize this specialty. This certification will be available to professionals who wish to demonstrate and validate their skill and knowledge of pelvic floor and pelvic girdle evaluation and treatment through a written exam. Those who sit for and pass this test may use the initials PTPC after their names and refer to themselves on their CVs and business cards as a Certified Pelvic Therapy Practitioner.

We are currently in the midst of developing the exam and are currently in the item-writing stage of development. A study guide will be made available shortly. A break down of topics and domains on the test blueprint is detailed HERE.

Meet the creators of our certification, our Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). These eight SMEs met in Orlando, FL in November of 2011 to create the Job Task Analysis Survey which was used to gather data from over 400 pelvic floor therapists. The results of this survey were used to create the Test Blueprint, upon which the test will be based.
