The Right Fit: We are always recruiting physical therapists who are a great fit for the growing Spooner Women’s Health team! Our physical therapists have the primary responsibility of ensuring an exceptional end to end patient experience, which includes directing patient care through the continuum in a fast-paced outpatient environment. This position reports to the facility clinic director.

Qualifications • Graduate of APTA accredited physical therapy institution. • Licensed in the state of Arizona. • CPR certification. • Membership in an accredited professional organization. • Some positions require Sports Medicine background Key Duties and Responsibilities: • Reviews physician’s written referral to determine physical therapy treatment required. • Determines and secures insurance authorization prior to treatment. • Evaluates patients using appropriate tests, measurements, clinical observation and supplementary information provided by the patient. • Develops individual patient treatment goals and activities based on evaluation of patient data and demographics. • Administers treatment to improve and maintain function and evaluates its effects. • Instructs, motivates, educates, and assists patients to perform various physical activities designed in the treatment plan. • Monitors effects of treatment at various stages and adjusts treatment to achieve maximum results. • Performs treatment involving application of physical agents, moist or heat packs, and other modalities as needed. • Documents treatment, response, and progress results onto chart and transcribes notes as required. • Communicates with medical practitioners to obtain additional information, suggest treatment revisions, and integrate therapy alternatives into patient’s care. • Instructs patients in continued home treatment plan. • Provides direction and communicates with the physical therapy technician appropriately for assistance in completion of patient care. • Creates an educational environment for the technician within which to learn. • Communicates essential patient information and scheduling needs with the Patient Service • Coordinators to ensure a smooth and consistent patient experience. • Participates in staff meetings to develop and enhance team focus. • Coordinates patient schedules to meet quality, efficiency, and productivity expectations and maintains follow-through with patients in an effort to minimize cancellation rates. • Maintains patient records in accordance with State and Federal guidelines, HIPAA compliance, and company policies. • Prepares fee schedule of and supplies to secure payment of services rendered. • Assists and participates in the marketing of programs, services, the facility, and the organization as a whole. • Meets all continuing education, licensing, and compliance requirements as set forth by the APTA and Spooner guidelines. • Takes proactive measures to follow and remain current on professional documentation and reimbursement guidelines. • Participates in clinic in-services and staff meetings to enhance the learning environment. • Accountable for maintaining OSHA regulatory safety and infection control standards and reports or corrects hazards as necessary. • Maintains a secure and safe working environment free of hazardous conditions in accordance to SPTs Safety and Illness and Injury Prevention Program.
Women’s Health Therapist Specific • Demonstrate a passion and interest in women and/or men’s pelvic health • Ability to treat general orthopedics, in addition to interest in women’s health therapy • Willingness and desire to pursue appropriate and recommended continuing education coursework to work toward expertise level skill and knowledge • Be open to mentorship and collaboration with Spooner’s Women’s Health Specialty Practice Group • Develop and own relationships related to specialty practice • Attend quarterly Women’s Health Specialty Practice Meeting
