Valley Medical Center Outpatient Physical Therapy is seeking a full-time Pelvic Health Physical Therapist to join our Outpatient Pelvic Health team. We are looking for a motivated and collaborative therapist with an interest in treating people with pelvic floor muscle dysfunctions. We provide care to a diverse patient population with a variety of pelvic floor conditions, including but not limited to, incontinence, constipation, pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic pain, sexual dysfunction, complications related to pregnancy and childbirth and complications related to gynecological cancer.
The position requires current Physical Therapy skills to evaluate, plan, implement and/or delegate a comprehensive plan of patient care in 4 areas of service. Provide therapy that meets the needs of the patients with a safe discharge plan including re-assessment/re-evaluation of the patient’s/clients functional abilities. Ability to assess the impact of simple to complex therapeutic modalities and procedures as outlined in the patient/client plan of care. Excellent communication with all types of patients/clients, caregivers and the healthcare team is required. An understanding of VMC/Rehab Services Policies and Procedures, state/federal regulations and guidelines allows for ethical and appropriate provision and billing of services. Program development in 3 areas, quality improvement, staff development, marketing activities, team leadership and delegation as well as student/volunteer supervision skills are components of this position.
1. Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience treating patients with pelvic health conditions, though new grads who have advanced pelvic health training or have completed a pelvic health clinical/residency are welcome to apply.
2. Minimum completion of Pelvic Floor Levels 1 and 2 training through the APTA Section for Pelvic Health or Herman and Wallace.
3. Orthopedic experience and strong manual skills are recommended.
4. Lymphedema certification (CLT) helpful
