The Herman & Wallace Institute welcomes all professionals who are appropriately licensed at our courses. Being born with a vagina and other female anatomy is not a prerequisite for attending or participating fully in our courses. This includes male therapists, as well as female therapists who do not have a vagina, or those who identify with another or no gender. H&W does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, age, ethnicity, religion, national origin, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity, genetic information, sex, marital status, disability, or status as a U.S. veteran
Some of our courses include lab-work in which participants work in partners to practice internal vaginal examination. During these labs, no participant will be required to partner with any other one participant. Male participants who want to be assured of having a lab partner, therefore, may wish to bring a lab model, similar to those participants who cannot participate fully in labs because they are pregnant or have another medical consideration. This is not required, as requiring one gender to bring a model and not another is a discriminatory practice.
Participants who are uncomfortable partnering with a male participant, or who wish to work in another part of the room for additional modesty, are encouraged to voice these preferences to the instructors, who will be happy to make efforts to accommodate.
