Sumer Samhoury, MSPT, CAMT, DPT, PRPC (Brooklyn, NY)

Sumer earned a BA degree in Psychology in 2000 and a Master's Degree in Physical Therapy from Hunter College in 2003. She was Certified in Advanced Manual Therapy in 2011. In her 12 years of PT practice, she has treated a variety of patients ranging from post surgical care in hospitals, pediatric early intervention and school aged facilities and geriatric home care. For the past 5 years, Sumer has found her passion in the areas of Pelvic pain and Women and Men's Health. She has taken several continuing education courses in pregnancy and post-partum care, male and female pelvic pain, urinary incontinence, sexual dysfunction, myofascial release and visceral manipulation of the urinary and reproductive organs and pelvic lymph drainage. Sumer is currently involved in a research group and has been trained to treat the mechanical issues of infertility due to pelvic adhesions. She treats part-time in a private practice in Brooklyn, NY (Tendercare PT) and has just launched a post-partum physical therapy program at NYU Lutheran Medical Center. Sumer's expertise in male and female pelvic rehabilitation combined with her orthopedic foundation allows her to provide a holistic healing approach. She has just earned her pelvic rehabilitation certification and utilizes techniques including manual therapy, muscle energy, soft tissue mobilizations and visceral manipulation to help her patients get results.
