Lymphedema
Lymphedema refers to swelling in either the leg, arm, or both that is caused by lymph fluid buildup in the body. Lymph fluid builds up because of a blockage in the lymph system that prevents draining. Lymphedema is most commonly caused by damage or removal of a lymph node during cancer treatment. While a cure for lymphedema remains elusive, the condition can be controlled by therapy and proper treatment of the affected limb.
