Continuing Education Courses On SI Joint

SIJ - Sacroiliac Joint Evaluation & Manual Therapy Treatment is one of Herman & Wallace's Continuing Education Courses on SI Joint. This course was developed by Dawn Sandalcidi PT, RCMT, BCB-PMD

This continuing education course course will cover the neuromuscular and manual therapy techniques and philosophies learned from internationally recognized manual therapist from Chile, Professor Mariano Rocabado. The neuromuscular treatment approach is utilized to treat sacroiliac dysfunctions. The theory is to use the muscle to assist in moving the joint back into its physiological position, thereby re-educating the muscle in its proper position and assisting in stabilization. Evaluation and treatment techniques to restore functional alignment and movement of the pelvic girdle are included. X-rays of the pelvic girdle will be presented.

Upon completion of this continuing education seminar, participants will:
1. Understand the anatomy and biomechanics of the pubis and sacroiliac joints
2. Assess pubic bone, ilia, and sacroiliac dysfunctions in standing, sitting, supine and prone
3. Treat and provide specific corrections for home treatment of each dysfunction
4. Understand the role of the pelvic floor muscles in sacroiliac dysfunction and pelvic pain
5. Progress patients to an exercise program incorporating muscle balance for their pelvic girdle/postural dysfunction
6. Identify benchmarks for patient’s treatment and exercise progressions
