A growing number of pelvic health therapists are recognizing the importance of preparing their clients for the physical and mental challenges of labor and delivery. In some cases, this is extending to a desire to be present during labor for support as a Doula. The purpose of this course is to present the unique challenges of merging a rehab practice with Doula services in order to help the participant better discern whether or not this is a journey worth taking.

Each module will kick off with didactic instruction in the topic, then lead into a group discussion with the intent for participants to have ample time for reflection. The instructor and moderator is a Physical Therapist who has been in the trenches with this conversation for the past five years. Megan Kranenburg, PT, DPT, WCS has balanced her solo outpatient pelvic health practice and Doula work since 2016. She lives and works in the nexus of Doula training near Seattle, Washington - which has provided plenty of opportunities to observe and participate in birth conversations and process the experience through the Physical Therapist's mind and heart.

Target Audience:

Pelvic Health PTs, PTAs, OTs, COTAs providing or interested in pursuing Doula training.
