The incidence of constipation and bowel dysfunction are on the rise and patients seeking to manage these conditions are commonly encountered in pelvic rehabilitation settings. Nourishing Within is designed as a “share-ready” discussion created for providers to use with clients as an integrative educational tool. Learn insightful questions/discussion points to consider that will shed new light on complex -but very common - bowel dysfunction. Lifestyle and nutritional strategies help the clinician integrate beyond-basics tips for managing constipation. Learn to optimize the health of the gut as well as the whole person. This course will include a 90 minute live presentation followed by a 30 minute interactive kitchen experience where we will expand knowledge and understanding of different varieties of cultured foods and how they are traditionally prepared. Course is packed full of tele-health ready strategies for sharing

Schedule: This short-format remote course will take place from 12:30PM - 2:30PM PST.

Objectives:

1. List the seven insightful questions/ talking points linking nutrition and lifestyle factors to gut & bowel health.

2. Compare and contrast foods that work against normal gut & bowel function versus those that support normal elimination and integration with all body systems.

3. List components of gut-healing nutrition and strategies for integration of this information in clinical settings.

4. Discuss the benefits of cultured foods as well as how and why they affect gut and bowel function
