ABPTS Certification |
| Certification Purpose |
To recognize expertise in the treatment of patients of any gender and age experiencing pelvic pain, pelvic girdle dysfunction, conditions of bowel, bladder, and sexual dysfunction that relate, in whole or in part, to the health and function of pelvic structures and the pelvic floor. |
Each ABPTS certification covers a practice specialty area: Pediatrics, Geriatrics, Orthopedics, Women's Health, Neurology, Sports...
The ABPTS WCS Certification contains some content area that overlap with PRPC, however these two certifications have different purposes.
The WCS focuses exclusively on women's health, which includes certain topics that PRPC does not address like breast cancer and lymphedema.
PRPC focuses on pelvic care (and issues effecting the pelvis and pelvic structures) of any gender and age. |

2000 Hours of Direct Patient Care of the last 8 years, 500 of which must have been performed in the last 2 years |
2000 Hours of Direct Patient Care (in the practice specialty area of the given exam) within the last 10 years, 500 of which must have been performed in the last 3 years |
