Pudendal Neuralgia

Pudendal Neuralgia

Pudendal neuralgia is characterized by severe pain located along the pudendal nerve. The pudendal nerve divides into three branches, the first innervates the inferior rectal region, the second the perineal region, and the third the dorsal nerve of the penis or clitoris. In pudendal neuralgia, pain could be felt in any of these three locations.  This condition is often associated with herpes genitalis and schwannoma of the pudendal nerve.
